Through a huge operation that took place in the morning hours of Monday, the two cougars brethren, who were for more than 15 years in the former zoo Colón, Buenos Aires province, were rescued and transferred to the sanctuary Tekove Mymba, located in the city of Columbus, but in the province of entre Ríos.
While the closure of this zoo was produced in the year 2013, during all this time were locked these pumas, being the last to be removed from the establishment, and thus put an end to a tireless work that spearheaded organizations, activists, and neighbors to end animal abuse.
“After 13 years of fighting, the last cage in the prison of animals of Columbus was closed and the zoo is officially extinct”, expressed from the grouping Close to the Zoo, great architects of this process.
